Azerbaijan-Korea Information Security Center

The Azerbaijan-Korea Information Security Center was opened on December 17, 2008 with the assistance of KADO (Korean Agency for Digital Opportunities and Promotion), which was established with the direct support of the Korean government to comprehensively provide external and internal digital systems. The opening ceremony was attended by BSU Rector, Academician Abel Maharramov, Deputy Minister of Public Administration and Security of the Republic of Korea Kin Young Ho, and KADO Vice President Park Won Gsun.

In May 2012, during the visit of Myungha Hong, Executive Director of the Korean National Information Society, to Baku State University, an agreement was signed on the renovation of the Center. The renovation work included replacing the center's computer system, creating a video conference and a virtual university. After the renovation process, the Azerbaijan-Korea Information Security Center was opened in August 2012. The renovation work, which cost about $100,000, was carried out free of charge.

The main goals of the opening of the Center are as follows:

-To familiarize students with modern digital technologies and equipment

-To master the latest information technologies;

-To ensure their more active participation in the integration processes of the globalized world.

The Azerbaijan-Korea Information Security Center, which consists of 3 rooms, has a Seminar-room, IT Training Laboratory and Internet Lounge. IT Training Laboratory is equipped with 90 computers and two widescreen projectors. The Center has all the conditions for students to have broader computer knowledge and at the same time master programming languages ​​perfectly. The Internet Lounge room, in turn, serves the purpose of students and researchers to obtain the necessary information via the Internet.
