Student Trade Union Committee

In accordance with the Order No. 41 of the Head of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated February 15, 2005, Student Youth Organizations were established in all higher and secondary specialized educational institutions of the Republic of Azerbaijan with the aim of improving work with youth and students.

The main goal of the organization is to represent and defend the interests of students and each individual student in the direction of implementing the state youth policy, and to ensure their active participation in the socio-political, cultural, social, and economic life of the republic. The main tasks of the organization are as follows:
Ensuring the protection of students' rights;
Implementing work to solve students' problems;
Carrying out educational work among students;
Effective organization of students' leisure time;
Ensuring the participation of talented and creative students in competitions, olympiads, exhibitions, festivals, and other events held inside and outside the republic;
Implementing preventive measures against drug addiction, alcoholism, crime, immorality and other negative tendencies among students;

Organizing competitions, seminars, festivals, forums, meetings, exhibitions, actions, round tables, scientific conferences, training courses, mass propaganda campaigns, discussion clubs, debates, symposiums, meetings with prominent figures and other events with the participation of students;
Publishing newspapers and magazines to provide information on events related to students and youth, as well as events taking place in the socio-political, socio-economic and cultural life of the republic;
Organizing associations, studios, clubs, courses and other services to ensure the interests and inclinations of students and their intellectual development;
Submitting issues to the Academic Council for the study of students' problems and the adoption of appropriate decisions, and submitting petitions to the management of higher or secondary specialized educational institutions;
Obtaining information from relevant departments and faculties on the number of students studying, their attendance, discipline, provision of dormitories, etc.

The Student Youth Organization also operates at the Faculty of Applied Mathematics and Cybernetics of Baku State University. The organization's board of directors includes 10 students, including the chairman, deputy chairman, and active members.
